Claire Zhou – Year 8 Student
Editor’s Note: On European Day of Languages in September 2019, The Association for Language Learning ran a competition in which pupils had to write a piece on the topic of ‘A Magical Journey’. Entries were chosen from a large pool in Year 8-11 and GSAL received a commendation from the judges on the overall quality of its entries.
In the KS3 category, Claire Zhou in Year 8 received a runner’s up commendation, having been picked from hundreds of age-group entries across the north of England, for the quality of both her writing in Spanish, her presentation and her inventive ideas. It was a beautiful, well-written piece with amazing illustrations. JLH
