Mirror Poem: Reflections

Reflections

Its eyes glower with hollow hostility.

Emotion has no refuge in its glare.

Its demeanour carries no care,

Nor do its words bear sympathy.

The withdrawn respect tells me all.

A head hung low; vacant of approval.

The admiration and its removal

Yet the ill-change will not be my fall.

What should one do to find peace and atone?

My hope has been lost and now I must find.

You must understand you are not just a clone,

You’re me. Just me, distilled and refined.

I pray my final chance is not blown,

As I know our reflections are aligned.
