Editor’s note: I caught up with passionate Year 8 artist Sarika and asked them about some of their recent work. Sarika told me, ‘I go to art lessons outside school; I learnt a few skills there, but also learnt some myself at home and out of school. Art is something I love to do in my free time. I just find it really fun. I sometimes look at other artists’ work for inspiration!’ Oliver – Chief Editor, Humanities Journal
The technique used for the carrots, lemons, aubergine, and onion was line and wash. Sarika used a water-resistant pen and watercolours.
For the painting of a house, Sarika used watercolours and pens. She also used the line and wash technique.
For this painting of a bird, Sarika simply used only different watercolours. For the eye, she used a pen, for detail. Sarika was inspired to do this painting after seeing a picture of a bird on Pinterest.
